PERIODONTOLOGY AND ORAL SURGERY Because of the bacteria from the dental plaque and tartar, gingivitis or inflammation of the gum can develop, characterized by a swollen and bleeding gum line. If gingivitis is left untreated, the disease spreads into the deeper layers, and attacks the bone and ligaments and then we are talking about periodontitis, of which the final result is loosening of the teeth and even their total loss. Initial therapy is primarily the removal of tartar and regular maintenance of oral hygiene, and if the disease has progressed, a variety of periodontal-surgical methods to recover the bones is being used. In collaboration with an oral surgeon we perform minor surgical procedures, such as removing the wrongly positioned wisdom teeth, removal of the root tip due to the emerging of granuloma, surgical extractions, remodelling the dental ridge for the easier wearing of dentures, implants... |
